Monitoring & Evaluation System to Measure Progress in Rural Water Supply & Sanitation

2007 - 2013

Global Water Initiative

West Africa

IWEL set out an enhanced monitoring and evaluation system for Global Water Initiative in West Africa, specifically looking at the results and success aspects of the Initiative, and taking in to account the knowledge, attitudes and practice of the stakeholders. IWEL developed a toolkit (including results based logical framework and the use of Theory of Change) for the Monitoring and Evaluation of the GWI, which was subsequently adopted by the GWI country partners. The following phases have included operationalising the planning and delivery of M&E in each national project, developing an organisational information portal with database operating system to record and analyse results, and preparation of associated training resources and delivery of workshops to ensure correct use of the M&E system.
